Historical fiction
Premise – During the Great Depression, a family of four wrestles with the destitution of their situation and the regret of the past as well as the hopes for the future. These dreams fly by the eyes of a nine-year-old child. But, what shapes her future? Despair of losing not only their jobs and lives, but something as intrinsic as hope – the future -, little Jem stands on her father’s shoulders one day to see over the crowd that paints the picture of Depression so vividly in her mind.
