For Aspiring Authors….
Here’s the introduction of my book! If you’re an aspiring author, then this is for you: :)
Hello reader!
I am so excited that you chose this story to read. What an honor it is of mine to know that my book is in your hand as you reveal its contents with your eyes. My only hope is that you sincerely enjoy it.
In this section, I am supposed to tell you a little bit about what I’ve learned on this journey toward becoming an author, and what an elating journey that is…instead, I think I’ll write a little bit of encouragement to the reader and the aspiring writer:
To the reader: dream very big, for your aspiration can come true with hard work. Let your mind soar through these pages for a time, wandering about through the realms of Esgaroth, Terranith, and so on. Just remember to let your mind wander and conjure your imaginative curiosity; let your speculations take flight on this new venture, and never look backward.
To the aspiring author, I write: if you really love it, then do it (with an unhindered spirit in the clutches of your fingers). Don’t worry about what the finished papers will look like or even how choppy the words will come at first. A story sometimes ends unexpectedly with nowhere to go and nothing to expound upon…Don’t worry about that either; that’s just a part of writing: soon, you’ll be getting along in a story that you can’t help but finish. Don’t think…That’s the trick…Don’t think, but write. Curious phrase, yes, but use these little scribbles on the pieces of your imagination to make something come alive. That’s what writing is: capturing a phrase and turning it into your own “something”, where the reader can see your descriptions as if they were as crisp as an article laid before their very eyes. Let these words take on the very nature they possess, without letting their wild and unbroken meaning be as their opposites. Leave room for uncertainty to cloud your gaze for a moment. Then, find your way out of the ambiguous air in which you find yourself and your characters entrapped. Nothing is impossible: with God especially (for that’s truly how anything is possible)…Why, I say this with experience, even if I am a mere 17 years of age. Impossibility is my favorite word. When there’s impossibility, there is always going to be speculation; it always accompanies impossibility. Then, the impossibility reasons out into something palpable and even tangible, like an existent ray of sun. You can feel it, so it’s real. But, can you catch it? That’s the question. Catching sunlight: an eye captures sunlight, captivates it, and manipulates it into an availing sight for one’s senses. I may just be rambling here, but nothing is quite as sweet as the expectations set upon the shoulders of impossibility.
To the aspiring writer: don’t be afraid of what others think of your work…Or be afraid; either one. But, respect something first: the “equitability” for change lies in the hands of the writer alone. What was that prose? “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” (Eleanor Roosevelt). Same principle here. Yes, it’s true.
To those who can’t think of anything “good” to write; who the judge of good and bad in this aspect is solely yourself: set down the pen for a time, or the pencil: for those who are feeling left out, you pencil people, (and the typers) and step away from the paper for a while. Hard to do…Now that we have you three separated, observe. One word with a grander meaning, so let me elaborate a moment. Watch something, whether it be entity or article; animal or natural phenomenon: not that glowing box (horrible). See it, and turn it over in your mind. When you touch it and feel it becoming yours, develop the spectacle into a long, winding, descriptive sentence (not too descriptive: no one likes too much description, but we’ll get to that later). For now, be as detailed and descriptive as you see fit. Write, my friend, for that is a good “soul on paper” (Mary T. Lane). Write and listen to the strokes slide across the manuscript, an indescribable sound that makes a great joy stir into the fingers from the heart (the heart first, the head last: that’s where the editing comes in). For this is where the journey begins. Write…Don’t aspire: but be.
But truly, I have learned a great many things through this opportunity: one is that you cannot hide your gifts, no matter how hard you try to conceal them away from others (especially if they have the potential, and they do, to give glory to the One who gave you these gifts). No matter how small this talent of writing, I hope it can bring God glory. And that’s the truth: the Lord of lords is the only One worthy of receiving the recognition and credit, not myself!
Enjoy the reading!

Love your writing tips and advice and as a seasoned writer, I find this to be very true. The only way to be a writer is to…write! Write words…write sentences…write thoughts and feelings but never stop writing.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and I’ll be dropping by again.
