Easy Lives
“Do not pray for easy lives!
Pray to be stronger men and women.
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be a miracle.”
-Phillips Brooks
:) Thanks to my friend, Ashley, for this.
The things you do for friends…
Oh yes, the hot topic of the day…haha…
So, it was a rainy, torrential kind of downpour day in Louisville, KY…and my friend left her soccer cleats on the field from yesterday’s practice. I drove up to the school, got out with my umbrella, and saw that the gate was locked. The wind picked up, the lightning rolled, and my umbrella…broke. haha…yep, I was like, “Really…really?…come on…” :) So, I climbed up and over this huge gate with the lightning raining down splices of roars, and the precipitation picking up pretty well at this point. To tell you the truth, I was almost blown away by the wind…So, after thinking that I might get electrocuted from jumping on this metal fence, I picked up the soiled, dirty soccer cleats and leapt back over the wiry climb. I then got back in my car, soaking wet, umbrella dismemberments in hand, and I started to laugh. God, you have way too much sense of humor for me. haha. :) That’s not the best part…I called my friend and it turned out that I had to climb back over the fence (not had to…more of a voluntary action) and get her shin guards and soaked socks. haha…I thought that was really funny, so I wanted to share…
The things we do for our friends…Oh, Jenna, I love you, girl…Please keep you cleats with you at all times…haha. :)
